Von El Castillo nach Ometepe, Nicaragua

Unser beliebter Reiseleiter Jonathan setzt heute seine Reise vom Rio San Juan zur Insel Ometepe fort. Auch hier gibt es natürlich wieder viele tolle Erlebnisse und Eindrücke, angefangen von der Bootsfahrt zurück nach San Carlos an der Mündung des Rio Frio und des Rio San Juan in den Nicaragua See bis hin zur Fährüberfahrt und der beeindruckenden Schönheit der Insel Ometepe mit den zwei majestätisch aufragenden Vulkankegeln.

Hier seine Schilderungen:

"In my secound day, back from El Castillo I took off from San Carlos heading to Ometepe Island on the ferry.
This huge lake offers you on the way the opportunity to talk with people going to differents destinations, and to share
experiencies about your trip with others, is a long drive through, but you will have a lazy chair just for you and if you have a nice book then the time does´t feel that long, any ways some birds will make your trip entertaining, beautiful sun sets and stops in two differents towns like San Miguel, and Morrito are also part of this journey. (no off boarding)

Finally once I arrive on the Ometepe Island late at Night, the next day was waiting for me with a large freshwater beach, and the non active Volcano Concepción (last eruption in 1957).
From the hotel you can rent a kayak and do your own trip on the Nicaraguan lake as well.
Around the hotel Charco Verde, there are trails to walk and do a good birdwatching tour on a natural lake called Charco Verde (green Lagoon) where you can observe also monkeys, and people doing their normal lives, which is very interesting, nice wiew points, forest etc..every thing by your own."
